Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

Shelley Du Pont sang baritone with the New Yorkers Five on Danice in 1955 before leading his own group the Calendars. The only 45 that I know is this excellent ballad Share My Love which mixes elements of doo wop and soul. Du Pont himself has a really lovely tone and is gritty enough and demonstrative enough to satisfy any deep soul purist. This track could well have been recorded several years before its release in 1965 – and I could do with a lot more music from this talented singer.
