Mike Taylor & the Diamonds may well have been one of those garage bands who did a pretty fair job of imitating soul sounds. But Nothing Will Ever Change My Love certainly isn’t a pale cover of a deep soul ballad – it earns a rightful place in these pages on merit thanks to a fine horn rich arrangement and a determined lead vocal. The song itself has some near perfect chord changes – super!
J & S was a tiny label from rural Louisiana – Eunice, LA to be precise – and was distributed by that fine music man Floyd Soileau from Ville Platte.
