Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

The obscure Thomas Clock (whose real name might have been Robert Thomas if the writing credits on his best 45 are anything to go by) sadly only had a couple of singles out. But I’ll Be True is a fine early soul ballad on which his light tenor comes across in fine style over a horn rich band with a strong pianist and some nice blue licks from the guitarist. Cooking was a Newark, NJ label.
