Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

Funny How People Forget - RENEGADE 5610 The Renegade label sounds as though it ought to be a hard country concern, but look carefully and you’ll find really good soul releases from Lee Martell and Sir Lattimore Brown. Look even more carefuuly and you might find this little gem. Share It Girl is an uptempo number of no small merit, with Baker’s light baritone riding high over a well crafted backing featuring a good horn line. The fact that this is a Nashville recording is more evident on the deep flip Funny How People Forget for which the horn section takes a break leaving Baker to sing his heart out over just a sympathetic rhythm section - the piano player in particular contributes some good gospel touches. A very fine southern soul 45.
