Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

DE LITE 532Writer Dan Brantley doesn’t seem to have recorded his own version of I’ll Always Love You but he was involved in both Sam Moultrie’s efforts. This cut by Felton Burks might not be as well-known as either of Moultrie’s but it swings pretty well and Burks delivers the song pretty well in his light attractive tenor voice. I like the hoarse tone he adopts very much. This was cut at Boutwell Studios in Birmingham, AL – how it got onto a New York label like De-Lite is anybody’s guess.
