Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

ExcaliburNew Orleans was never really a city that went in for soul vocal groups, but there were the occasional combo that made good records. And the little known Blueprints fitted that description to a T. Top side is a rather non-descript dancer but the ballad flip I've Been Duped is my preferred side thanks to its lazy pace and typically relaxed Crescent City vibe. The harmonies are fine and one of the the lead voices sounds more than bit like Curly Moore. Could it be him?

Both sides writers credit is given as “E Johnson” – could that be Earl King Johnson? The arranger’s name is “Wardell” – almost a guarantee of quality.
