This rare group 45 out of Detroit doesn’t appear to be related to any of the other teams of Ambassadors plying their trade in the Motor City in the 60s, such as those on Arctic or Reel, but they certainly do pack a solid punch even so. You can’t possibly mistake the gospel chops of the hard lead vocal on Believe In Me, or the quality of the background harmonies, despite the meandering flute weaving in and out of the melody. The production is by Clemmer Yancy, uncle of hip hop artist J Dilla on his own Soul Track label.
More info on this group would be very welcome.
